Tapos na yung hours ko pero it seems that parte na ng sistema ko itong pagpasok sa LCRC. Moreover, it is a Thursday! Worship service ulit with Pastor Paul.

Very meaningful yung naging sermon ni pastor paul:
  • Origin: Who you are
  • Destination: A vision of who you want to be
  • Vehicle: Your Mission
  • Travel Bag: Your knowledge, skills, and attitude
  • Landmarks and Route: S.M.A.R.T. Goals
  • Anticipate Turns, Detours, and Potholes

I know na magiging helpful yung mga sinabi ni pastor paul sa pag-araw araw na pamumuhay hindi lamang ng mga residents kundi pati naming practicumers.
Ang cute ng pinanood naming movie. Alvin and the chipmunks. I know that na-enjoy ng mga residents ang movie as much as we did.
Actually parang gusto nilang panoorin yung alvin and the chipmunks 1 sa susunod :)

February 17, 2010 : Game of Life / 300hours completed!

Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. This was my official last day ng OJT. 300+ hours na ako. :)
Hindi kami nakasama sa aerobics session ng mga residents kasi we must prepare an activity for the afternoon session since Ms. Faye wouldn't be coming anymore.

Game of Life ang tawag sa activity namin. And the feedback was overwhelming. Life size na game board yung game of life. Everyone enjoyed it, including us. there is a part in the game where they were stucked in one point and they just keep on returning on that same spot. Then there was a time in round 2 where all of them, as in all of them returned to the starting point. good thing they were sports enough to play again until someone won.

During the processing, I was happy because there were no more negative reactions like "BORING" anymore from anyone of them. Moreover, I was happy because they shared their ideas, realizations and insights willingly. I believe that they learned the real essence of life mapping.

February 15, 2010 : Life Mapping

Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. Balik to regular program this week. Life Mapping. Me and Bethel were assigned to be the leaders for the week. For the morning session, okey naman yung response nila sa icebreaker though may parang naaasar sa groupmates niya. Masaya naman ako dahil responsive sila and they got to share their ideas.

We tried it ourselves. i can say na nag-enjoy naman yung mga residents sa activituy. After ng session, meeting ulit with pour supervisor. Even there is a lot more improvement, i can say that I facilitated better this time. :)

february 12, 2010 : A fairytale valentine to all!!

Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. at last dumating na ang araw na pinakaaantay ng lahat!!!

When the characters were introduced one by one, and posed in front, it is clearly seen that everyone is enjoying. All the presentation went well. (Pero yung sa amin parang hindi masyadong smooth..hahah) Yung effort ng mga residents sa pagpapractice ay talagang well paid off. Sa closing activity, it took time before makumpleto nila yung puzzle na heart pero, at the same time, it was both meaningful and insightful. I may be able to tell every detail of it, I can say that the party was a success. :))

After ng party with the residents, party with staff and students naman. Send-off na din kasi ng mga taga-UE. Libreng videoke + madaming food + picture picture = fun, fun, fun!!!

Nakakapagod yung gabing yun pero super saya. I am looking forward for another great program like this. :))

HAPPY VALENTINES!

February 11, 2010 : Ms. Mona's bday, worship and more castle!

Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. Birthday nga pala ngayonni Ms. Mona kaya gumawa kami ng banner for her. :)

May libreng softrinks din pala from sir. :) (tink yu tink yu)

Bandang 5pm, ready for set-up na castle. syempre lahat nagbigay ng effort doon kaya naman everyone is happy ng tuluyan ng maikabit yun with the help of one of the attendants. :)

February 10, 2010 : Castle Castle Paint Paint

Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. It is located at #105 Scout Rallos Street, Brgy. Sacred Heart, Kamuning, Quezon City.

2 days nalang valentines party na!!!! Focused ang lahat sa castle. Buti nga nakisama ang panahon. Kasi when I was on my way to LCRC, umuulan. Please please wag ngayon. Pano matutuyo ang pintura?" From time to time, nag-uusap kami about sa costumes namin. Excited na talaga ang lahat. However, it was sad because two of the residents were discharged. We thought of another energetic, cheerful and pa-bibbo resident left the group.

I firmly believe that we can do it! After lunch, we started painting our castle. It was hard (maliit na paint brush lang gamit namin), it was messy (natapunan yung pants kooo!!!), it was toxic (ang baho kaya ng pintura). However, it was fun. This was my second day na hindi nakapasok sa session hall dahil sa castle.

(It is always about you)

Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. It is located at #105 Scout Rallos Street, Brgy. Sacred Heart, Kamuning, Quezon City.

Eto na ang pinakahihintay namin na week. And Daisy's in-charged. Sabi nga ni sir eh sa aming lahat sya ang pinaka-credible.:) Fairytale ang concept for the program. So, we shared ideas for the design. We decided na gumawa ng castle as our backdrop. I know na m edyo mahirap pero gusto talaga naming i-pursue yung design kasi ayaw namin ng "pwede na".
As soon as the design was approved, we started the "week-long" project.

This afternoon, we had with us Peter presenting a topic under psychoanalysis, recognizing and understanding anxiety. Nung sinabihan kami na kailangan naming umattend ng discussion ni Peter, at first ayoko sana pumunta kasi nga gusto ko i-work out yung castle. Eh kaso required kaming lahat. Wala akong nagawa.

Before sya nag-start, nakipag-chit chat muna kami kay Peter and sa friend nya. During his presentation, surprisingly enough, nakikinig ako sa sinasabi nya. May ibang parts lang na hindi/mahirap intindihin because of the language barrier. I'm glad that I gained insights from Peter's discussion.

After ng rehearsals and backdrop making for the day, we had our meeting with our supervisor. And this one became a difficult conversation for us. I may not remember exactly everything that we talked about, I will remember though the insights and what i felt after the meeting - that with all of our decisions and its consequences, we should own it and reflect on it; bottling feelings will never do anything good because it will make you bitter. And everything you are doing always say something about you - It is always about you.

Today is Thursday! We prepared another different set of worship songs for the service with Pastor Paul. As we wait for the arrival of Pastor Paul, we let the residents and ourselves practice the songs. I noticed that some of the residents were making fun out of their co-residents.

Nung dumating yung relatives nung isang resident, tumakbo sya dun sa may bintana tapos tinawag nya yung mama nya tsaka yung kapatid nya.

I was really happy kasi naka-attend ulit ako ng worship service. At last, after being deprived, i again had my spiritual nourishment. I was inspired with nthe sermon of pastor Paul. And I want to practice those things to enhance my spirituality :
1. have a quiet time with our Lord
2. engage in group activity and
3. sing songs of worship

This afternoon, we were privileged to be invited sa isang nutrition seminar. I believe that it is essential for us to pay attention to our nutrition to maximize our potentials in the line of work we belong. Ms. Yolly, the speaker was very credible in giving us the knowledge and information we needed to enhance our nutrition. Her lecturre was fun and interactive, we got to ask freely questions about this and that. It's great because we get to have insightful and free lecture on this topic.

And everyone's excited! :)

February 3, 2010 : Tunay na Aerobics, Muntik na demerit

Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. Wednesday mornings ay aerobics session. Pero this time, sumali talaga kami sa pag-aerobics. :) After mag-aerobics, I feel energized kaso medyo sumakit yung katawan ko.

This afternoon gumawa sila ng wind chime. Buti nalang may tumulong sakin.

Ayun. We realized na kailangan talaga na magkarron kami ng sistema pag nasa loob ng session hall and kapag may ipapasok na materials sa loob. :)

February 1, 2010 : Love month na! Pero enhancing spirituality muna :)

Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. Wow. Ang bilis ng araw. February na kaagad. Love is in the air. :)

He is a foreigner intern who will be staying with us for the next two weeks. Nakakatuwa kasi marami na kaming nakakasama dito from other country, like miss hanna from germany, miss mona from thailand and ngayon naman si peter who came from romania. :)

As part ng pag-welcome kay peter, we prepared a welcome song that goes:

kamusta ka?
halina't magsaya
pumalakpak, pumalakpak,

We were glad to know that he felt at home here in the Philippines and is looking forward to working with the center and the residents.
After ng mini program, we continued with our regular morning activities pero icebreaker nalang yung nai-facilitate namin sa kanila kasi kulang na ng time. After ng session, we were met by our supervisor he commented that eventhough we were "cramming" on the preparation, we were still good at execution. he reminded us that it is good to be spontaneous but we still should pay attention to the details - one word : BALANCE.

To prevent cramming once more, nagdiscuss na kami for the activities. I volunteered myself to facilitate the main activity. at syempre, as I expected, sobrang daming kaba ang naramdaman ko. They were all cooperative. When it was time for the processing part, ayan na, kinabahan nanaman ako ng bonggang bongga. I preferred to sit rather than standing to reduce the obviousness of me being nervous, as well as I tried to see if they will become more responsive if I lessen the "authority figure" which I think I will be displaying when I remain standing.

I knew already that with processing, we should minimize the "why questions" kasi parang we need justification sa mga sagot nila. Tsk. However, I was happy beacuse they were still responsive. Halos sabay-sabay pa nga sila sumagot.

Lesson learned: Do not ask too much "why's".
