January 14, 2010 : Cold Thursday

Founded by Dr. Randy Dellosa, Life Change Recovery Center (LCRC) is a psychiatric facility and rehabilitation center for people suffering from schizophrenia, depression, addiction, and other unmanageable behaviors. It is located at #105 Scout Rallos Street, Brgy. Sacred Heart, Kamuning, Quezon City.

While I was on my way to LCRC, I felt that it was cold and the weather seems to be gloomy. Since maaga naman ako, I decided to slow down my pace and enjoy my walk sa Sct. Rallos. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, tutal "Living in the Here and Now" naman yung theme. So there, I really enjoyed the moment - slow walk, cloudy and cold weather, with matching wind effect and falling leaves pa (bongga. parang MTV lang hahah..) Peaceful yung moment. Ang saya!

And because of this cold weather, walang outdoor activity yung mga residents. During our meeting, kinamusta kami ni sir. Yung mga concerns namin and request regarding sa daily progress report (for me it sounds more of a demand kasi dami namin hinihingi).

Yes! Thursday na ulet. It means worship service na ulit with Pastor Paul and syempre yung mga worship songs. I noticed that some of the residents is always looking at the window as if waiting for someone. Maybe they were really expectant that on that day some loved one will visit them. Every after the worship service I feel so refreshed and always looking forward for another one next week.

Movie watching ulit later that afternoon. They were supposed to watch Tuesdays with Morrie. A great movie na swak na swak sa theme for this week. Unfortunately, wala kaming copy ng movie na yun kasi 6 hours to download. Sayang. Pero may pantapat dyan si sir. "Pangako Ikaw Lang"? (hindi ako sure kung yan yung title) with Regine Velasquez and Aga Mulach. Wow. Bagong-bago. At first, I doubt na magugustuhan yun ng mga residents. But it turns out they they are enjoy the movie. Siguro kasi most often foreign movies yun pinapanood nila. And even luma na yung movie, gwapo naman si aga and maganda naman si regine. As expected sa Filipino movie, may mga chessy scenes pero both of the residents and practicumers (wag i-deny students!) enjoyed those moments.

Almost half of the movie nung pumasok ako sa hall. Nagtype kasi ako ng inventory. And I noticed na may bagong resident pala. Parang kakatapos palang nya umiyak kasi teary eyed pa sya. When she saw me, she gave a faint smile and I smiled back. Then she turned to another resident and maybe trying to initiate a conversation. Yung kausap nya tumango lang tapos nanood na ulit.

After ng movie, nagpa-sign na kami ng daily progress report kay sir. Yun nga lang piled up na yung mga report so parang hindi na rin sya daily report. After malagyan ng remarks ni sir, we were reminded that next time, maximum of two entries lang per day yung i-aacept nya. Mas madali nga naman yun for both of us. Mahirap kasi maghabol ng report kasi nakakalimutan yung mga observations sa residents pag hindi kaagad ginawan ng report.

I learned my lesson. As soon as possible, gagawa na ko kagad. Promise.
(Para tumaas naman yung grade ko sa report)
